ALLEVYN ADHESIVE is a rapidly absorbing, self-adhesive waterproof dressing that can be left in place for up to 7 days.
Warnings
Do not use with oxidising agents such as EUSOL or hydrogen peroxide as these can break down the absorbent polyurethane component of the dressing. In common with all adhesive products, irritation and / or maceration of the skin surrounding the wound may occur. Infrequently cases of sensitivity to the dressing have been reported. If reddening or sensitisation occur, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional. It should be noted that inappropriate use , or too frequent dressing changes, particularly on patients with fragile skin , can result in skin stripping. This product is a single use product. If used on more than one patient, cross- contamination or infection may occur. Opening the dressing pack compromises the sterile barrier therefore any unused dressing should not be retained for use at a later date.Â
Common Uses
Protection and cushioning on wounds with moderate to high amounts of wound fluid
Directions
Clean and dry skin around the wound. Â allow at least 3cm border from the edge of the wound. Â Colour change over wound area extending to 1cm from the dressing edge indicates that the dressing needs changing.
